Scholarship: MSc by Research (Healthcare Ethics and Law)

The University of Bristol Department of Population Health offers an MSc by Research. The programme is one year full time and two years part time. Students with an interest in Ethics in Medicine can register for this degree and complete a project in Bioethics (this may include a legal component), supervised by the Centre for Ethics in Medicine.

We have one funded MSc by Research studentship available for 2021-22, for a project that is expected to commence in Autumn 2021. The successful applicant will be provided with:

  • Funding to cover their MScR tuition fees (approx. £4,500 for one year, full-time study)
  • A full stipend at Wellcome Trust rates (£16,000)
  • Research expenses e.g. to cover data collection, transcription and/or travel/conferences (up to £2,000 as needed)

Applications are currently (only) invited for proposals addressing the topic area of clinical ethics support services.
